There are a lot of things that we can do to monetize the time we spend online. However, nothing is probably more fun than buying things that we either want or need and then getting paid for it. I'm not talking about these mystery shopping gigs, but rather something that you can do right from home without going anywhere (this is after all a blog about making money from your time spend online).

So here's how you can make some extra cash. Check out the online rebates, coupons, and promotions. These are full of opportunities to do one of two things: Save money (which in my book is almost like making money) and secondly get things for free. That's right, Gratis!

If you visit websites like mrrabates [dot] com and join, you get a ton of opportunities to save money through cash back deals. At the website, they typically provide either a percentage cash back OR even better, pay you money when you buy a participating item.

Another way to make some cash online is to look for the rebates direct from merchants (yeah I know, you'll have to usually wait 4-8 weeks for your return check). Sometimes the rebates allow for you to get things for FREE which you can turn into liquid cash by selling on eBay or other online venue (think Craigslist). There are some blogs out there that write about new free after rebate deals as they are released so you don't have to spend too much time searching.

Now I know that keeping track of rebates can be difficult, but it doesn't have to be. Just set up a system for tracking the rebates you've mailed, how long it requires them to respond with your check, and include contact information in the event you have to remind them that they owe you money.
